GArden Half Green | feminine floral painting
 
This painting is one half of the garden. Two halves of the same vintage pillowcase—one that lived in my childhood, folded inside a life of sleepovers, laughter, and the kind of feminine softness that has always called to me.
I painted them side by side, letting my inner child play like she always wanted to: painting over fabric, enhancing the bold blooms, making the colors dance in a way they never got to before. They feel both rooted in memory and completely of this moment—my garden, my home, the simple magic of daily life with my man, my dogs, and the small rituals that hold me steady.
They carry the tones of spring at the reservoir—wheat, coral, green—and feel like a transition into something new. But even more, they feel like a return. A soft, quiet permission to make something simply because it’s beautiful.
I don’t know yet if they’re the beginning of a series or a standalone bloom, but I know they are the truest work I’ve made in a long time.
